A character actress of TV, stage and film, Jennifer Raine was the daughter of actor Alan Napier who played Alfred the butler on the 1960s camp classic "Batman". Her great-great-grandfather was the celebrated 19th-century English novelist Charles Dickens. Raine moved to Los Angeles at the age of seven and made her American debut in the Shirley Temple vehicle "The Little Princess" (1939). She continued to work sporadically throughout the 40s and 50s (e.g., a small role in the Cornel Wilde starrer, "The Scarlet Coat" 1955). Her TV credits include "Passport to Danger" (1954) and "Man Behind the Badge" (1953-55). Raine was married to veteran character actor Whit Bissell.
