Catherine Zeta-Jone can be a Welsh actress. She began her career on stage from a young age. After starring in several Great britain and Usa television films and small roles in films, she located prominence with roles in Hollywood movies such as the 1998 action film The Mask of Zorro and also the 1999 crime thriller film Entrapment. Her breakthrough role is at the 2000 film Traffic, in which she earned her first Golden Globe Award nomination for the most powerful Supporting Actress - Film.

Zeta-Jones subsequently starred as Velma Kelly inside 2002 film adaptation in the musical Chicago, an important and commercial success, and received an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated to the Golden Globe Award for the best Actress - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Later, she appeared in the 2003 romantic comedy film Intolerable Cruelty and 2004 crime comedy film Ocean’s Twelve. Zeta-Jones landed the lead female role in the 2005 sequel of the 1998 film, The Legend of Zorro. She also starred within the 2008 biopic romantic thriller Death Defying Acts. This season, she won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Desiree in A Little Night Music.

Zeta-Jones was created Catherine Zeta Jones in Swansea, Wales, to Patricia (née Fair), an Irish seamstress, and David James Jones, a Welsh sweet factory owner. Her name comes from the ones from her grandmothers - her maternal grandmother, Catherine Fair, and her paternal grandmother, Zeta Jones. She now hyphenates her name as “Catherine Zeta-Jones”, accepting the error with the American press at the start of her career.

After her parents won £100,000 at Bingo within the 1980s, they gone to live in St Andrews Drive in Mayals, an upper middle-class area of Swansea.
